Awwwww!! I did it! Coloring book #1 is complete! Printed, posted, prayed over, and ready to be enjoyed in their own spaces.
Do you have a million and one projects going on in your head and around your home or workspace like I do? I am always running. Not like jog running because I'm definitely not a runner, but my mind is always running.....like a million miles an hour running. Running down the mile long lists with several tabs opened all trying to operate at the same time and we all know that it is absolutely impossible to be and do everything. Oooooh, take a breath. I set out on this little coloring book adventure that just started in a conversation actually with my son when he was just a tiny kiddo in elementary school. The ideas just kind of lay dormant for a while until they just resurface into fun works of art. Back to it, so I am a middle school art teacher and each year we do a collaborative grade level art piece for the school to auction off. My thought resurfaced and BOOM......a coloring book of my own designs, collaborated with my sweet family, and my 7th grade auction project that will soon be organized after photo season calms down a bit..
There is so much inspiration surrounding us and we just miss it all the time. We need to look up, take our time exploring, actually spend time listening to what others have to say, and allow our thoughts to day-dream. Like, actually daydream and not just daydream on what others have or are doing. Do you still day dream? That's a whole separate post I have brewing in my heart and mind. My brain is like a million pencils, pens, brushes, markers, and clicks of a camera all going on at once or sharing the brain space in my head creating a number of images. Anyone else?
Back to the book. This coloring book has so much love poured into it. Moments just sitting on the couch with my kiddos, moments of just needing a brain escape at work, moments of just being inspired, moments of a bit of frustration that turned into stepping stones of mistakes turned ideas, moments of learning.....oh man learning. We are to be life long learners and this project along with all my other projects push me to learn each day. I love that I still have so much more to learn and discover in my creative journey. My creative journey helps me not only in my work life, but as a mom and wife, and all the other titles we have in our lives. Each design is one of their own.....full of joy, fun, laughter, with a dash of whimsical and childhood. This is just the start of something new. I love it and feel so proud of having these simple books in my hands. My kids have cheered me on and get to see their mom push through, learn, and grow. I hope you create one of your projects laying around your spaces. I hope you get the courage to start or do something you have always wanted to do. I hope you push aside the negative thoughts that may enter your mind. And.....I hope you never stop day-dreaming.
